Starting next November, electronic money (e-money) will be applied in Kaki Lima night market held on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta every Saturday night.

Head of Jakarta Micro, Small, Medium Cooperative and Trade (KUMKMP) Department, Joko Kundaryo, this plan is being prepared by DKI Bank. Socialization about electronic money, especially the application during next Kaki Lima night market to be held later.

"This system should be applied in 2 weeks ago, but DKI Bank as the third party is not ready yet," said Kundaryo, Tuesday (7/10).

Kundaryo added the non cash implementation is the effort to change citizen's culture from using cash transaction. KUMKMP Department will be easily monitor the transaction.

"e-money can be used to saving," Kundaryo added.

His side noted that transaction value during Kaki Lima night market reached Rp 275 million up to Rp 290 million. This is suitable with the trade result from 400 educated traders by UKM in the event.
